Herald News Report

SPRINGFIELD – Halloween was apparent at the monthly meeting of the Rebeca Galloway Chapter DAR, as members came masked in a variety of faces in honor of the season – from spiders and pumpkins to veils and even Donald Trump’s hair.

The group reports that it enjoyed typical Halloween goodies with donuts, cider and wrapped chocolates. Along with the festivities, the group installed Karen Bibby as an official new member. She is Chaplain Sandy Pocius’ Mother. Several new books have been added to its library from late member Sandra Coppess. Several committee reports and another invitation to join the Blue Star Mothers at the VA to play Bingo, 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.

The group is also taking cards and other items for the veterans. November’s meeting will find the group collecting toys for its annual gift to Dayton Children’s Hospital.
