Broaden your genealogy research

XENIA — Does your family tree contain only your direct ancestors? Extending your family tree to include collateral lines—brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins—might provide some breakthroughs in your research. On Saturday, October 5, 2019, at 1:30 pm at the Xenia Community Library, Cathy Leininger will present “Going Collateral: Broadening Your Genealogy Research” at the monthly meeting of the Greene County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society. She will show you the benefits of going collateral, provide examples of this method of research, and give you some tips for organizing all you new relatives.

Cathy has been doing genealogy for over 20 years and is currently serving a term as President of the Greene County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society. She has given presentations for local libraries and genealogy chapters, and has taught beginning genealogy classes. Her specialty is Midwestern research and migration patterns.

This program is co-sponsored by the Greene County Room—Local History & Genealogy and the Greene County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society.
