Church celebrating 193 years

XENIA — Middle Run Baptist Church is celebrating its 193rd anniversary.

A pre-anniversary homecoming gospel workshop will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30 through Friday, Oct. 2.

A homecoming concert will be held 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3 and then the celebration continues Sunday, Oct. 4 with a pair of guests. The Rev. John Conley, pastor of Christ Memorial Baptist Church in Dayton will preach at the 10:30 a.m. service, followed by the Rev. William Bailey and the congregation of the St. Peters House of Restoration Baptist Church in Dayton 3:30 p.m.

Middle Run Baptist Church, 1000 E. Church St., is the oldest black Baptist church in Ohio.

Former church choir members and churches throughout the community are invited to participate in the workshop. The public is invited to attend all activities.
