XENIA — Greene County Career Center will host its third county-wide “Chamber Chat” 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at the school’s Agricultural Research Center. Members from all seven Greene County chambers of commerce are invited to this networking event, located at 551 Brush Row Road in Xenia Township.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for chamber members to meet others from different parts of the county,” Greene Career Center Superintendent David Deskins said. “The previous two chamber chats were held at the main campus and drew tremendous crowds. With this one, we wanted to showcase the Agricultural Research Center. The main goal, however, is for chamber members and those interested in chamber memberships, to network and socialize.”

Catering for the event will be handled by the center’s Culinary Arts program. Demonstrations by programs like Veterinary Science and Equine Science, which are housed at the research center, will also be featured. Attendees will also be treated to hayrides around the facility.

The Agricultural Research Center includes 49 acres of farm land and pasture plus a barn that features a 14,000-square-foot indoor riding arena, animal stalls, tack room, kennel and veterinary surgical suite. Students from the two programs housed at the center, along with students from Natural Resource Technologies and Power Equipment Mechanics, have been working to prepare the facility for chamber visitors.

The event is free and visitors are encouraged to dress appropriately.
