XENIA — Final official results for the Nov. 7 general election were certified Nov. 22 at the Greene County Board of Elections, minus two races.

One New Jasper Township Trustee seat remains open, and the results for the Cedar Cliff Board of Education race also have yet to be finalized.

A two-vote difference caused the Board of Elections to decide to conduct a recount for the New Jasper Township Trustee race, only including Lisa Townsend (236 votes) and Mike Rasey (234 votes).

On election night, unofficial final results showed the two in a tie, each receiving 234 votes.

An automatic recount is triggered when the difference in a race is .5 percent or less, according to Board of Elections Director Llyn McCoy. The recount will happen 9 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Mike Horsley, incumbent, earned the other spot with 473 votes, or 50.16 percent of the vote.

Rasey’s term is expiring. Townsend would be a new face on the board.

Cedar Cliff Board of Education saw another close race, with write-in Maria Waymire leading write-in Kyle Miller by just three votes, 223 t0 220.

Results show two incumbents claiming the other spots, Gail Martindale with 732 votes and Christopher Cross following with 677.

Final results for the Cedar Cliff race will be available after Tuesday, Nov. 28, according to the Board of Elections.
