XENIA — Greene County Council on Aging is hosting its annual Holiday Gift Soiree, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6 at the Xenia Community Center, 1265 W. Second St.

Visitors are invited to stroll through various displays: Winter Wonderland, Cabin in the Woods, Gathering of Snow Friends, Vintage Kitchen Window and more.

A collection of handmade gifts will be available for sale, including decorated trees and ornaments, sports team items, rustic and vintage décor, yarn and textile creations and homemade treats. The baked goods will include cookies, shortbread, candies, granola, fudge, chocolate covered pretzels, and jams.

All gifts and treats are made by council members and volunteers. Proceeds will benefit the councils’ charitable account with the Greene County Community Foundation and will be used for future senior and caregiver programs.

The festive event will also feature holiday music, homemade refreshments and warm cider or coffee.

Visitors will also have the chance to win a gift basket and pick up the council’s 2018 calendar.

Tickets for the quilt raffle are $1 for one ticket or $5 for six tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the soiree or at the council office. The drawing will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19. The quilt was made and donated by Jackie Markunes.
