FAIRBORN — Potential Wright State University students can talk one-on-one with faculty, take a campus tour and learn about different aspects of the university at the Raider Open House 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4.

Jennifer McCamis, director of admissions, said the event is a good time for students to meet with faculty, learn about admissions and their college and get a college tour.

“This is a good opportunity for students to learn more about Wright State,” McCamis said. “It gives the faculty a chance to connect with students, and it gives students the opportunity to meet their faculty.”

Open house registration and event information is available on the Wright State website.

Any time during the event, prospective students can attend an application workshop and apply to be a raider.

Throughout the morning, Wright State colleges and schools will host informational sessions for students who are interested in enrolling. Several colleges will also host tours of their facilities.

Throughout the morning, Wright State colleges and schools will host information sessions including the College of Nursing and Health, College of Science and Mathematics, College of Liberal Arts, College of Education and Human Services and Raj Soin College of Business.

Several colleges will also host tours of their facilities.

Students interested in business can tour the Raj Soin College of Business, where they will be able to visit the college’s Soin Trading Center, an award-winning stock trading simulator that gives students real-world business experience. They will also visit the Rey Rey Cafe, a student-run coffee shop in Rike Hall.

Students interested in the College of Engineering and Computer Science will have opportunities to interact with current students during the college’s project display session. Students will have projects on display for the high school students and they can answer questions students might have.

The College of Science and Mathematics will host a tour, including stops in laboratories.

The College of Liberal Arts will host a tour of the Creative Arts Center for students interested in dance, fine arts, music, theatre and film.

Prospective students can receive a guided tour of campus at any time during the open house. Wright State students lead the tours, giving visitors an insider’s perspective on the university and its campus.

Along with information sessions from a specific college, students can also attend sessions about on-campus housing, student organizations, the University Honors Program and financial aid.

The open house will also host information sessions for those transferring to Wright State and students who participated in College Credit Plus.

In the afternoon, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., students can participate in a FAFSA workshop, where they can receive assistance.

“The open house is a way for student to learn what it means to become a raider,” McCamis said.
