Fairborn road construction starting in August

FAIRBORN — Motorists will begin to see a number of scheduled projects being performed on roadways in the upcoming weeks.

Dayton Drive Widening Project

The Dayton Drive widening project is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 14. A detour, which is estimated to continue for approximately two months, will be in place for southbound Dayton Drive motorists. A portable message board will be visible beginning Monday, Aug. 7, to notify motorists of the upcoming project and detour.

A map of the detour route can be found on the City website under the Government tab in the Engineering section.

This year’s Street Program

The Engineering Division has updated both the street map and street list on the city website for the 2017 Street Program. Repairs are set to begin on Monday, Aug. 7. No parking signs will be posted on streets a few days prior to work being performed. Residents are asked to pay attention to the dates listed on the signs. Eight of the original streets scheduled to receive only minor maintenance overlay are being postponed due to extremely high bid prices.

The streets to be rescheduled include: Cleary Drive (120’ south of Erie Ave to north terminus); Doris Drive (Harvard Avenue to Dellwood Drive); Kauffman Avenue (Central Ave to 140’ west of Maple Ave); Frahn Avenue (Kauffman Avenue to Maple Avenue); State Street (Kauffman Ave to Ironwood Dr); Wiley Street (Forest Street to Euclid Avenue); Third Street (Main Street to Xenia Drive); and Middle Street (West Street to east terminus).

Curb, Sidewalk and Approach (CSA) Program

The CSA Program is set to begin before the end of August and is scheduled to be completed by Nov. 1.

Any questions regarding street treatments or any of these projects, please check the City of Fairborn website, ci.fairborn.oh.us, or call 937-754-3055.
