The “Wag Pad,” otherwise known as the dog park in Fairborn, officially opened for public use June 2, inviting dogs and their owners to Sandhill Park, 229 Sandhill Road, where it is located to be the first to step on the grounds. New friends were made all around.

Facebook group “Snow Dog Obsession” got word of the dog park opening in Fairborn, drawing a number of local husky owners to the event. Approximately 15 huskies, belonging to varying individuals, made it to the opening. Owners brought their huskies a pool and ice to let the dogs cool off.

The dog park was made possible by a committee of a handful of individuals. They are pictured, along with city officials, as the ribbon was cut, which officially opened the Wag Pad to the public.
