Marketing students move on to state conference

BEAVERCREEK — Led by silver medals in three events at the District 4 regional competition, Greene County Career Center’s (GCCC) marketing program at Beavercreek High School will be sending nine competitors to the DECA State Leadership Conference.

Sarah Alcorn (2nd Place Principles of Hospitality and Tourism), Nathaniel Casterline and Konner Curran (2nd Place Buying and Merchandising Team), Michael Joiner (2nd Place Financial Consulting), Aly Petering (3rd Place Marketing Communications), Megan Shively (3rd Place Principles of Marketing), Jared Buckingham (4th Place Quick Serve Restaurant Management), Kelsey Hamblin (4th Place Accounting Applications), and Jacob Reeves (4th Place Restaurant and Food Service Management) earned spots to represent Beavercreek and GCCC at DECA in Columbus Friday-Saturday, March 17-18.

Others who also placed in the top four in their individual and team events include Chelsea Fields (4th Place Entrepreneurship Start-Up Business Plan), Kyra Vaughn (4th Place Principles of Finance), Kayla Coscarelli and Megan Steele (5th Place Advertising Campaign), Treyben Funderburg and Isaac Smith (5th Place Sports and Entertainment Team), Micayla Joiner (5th Place Business Services), Gio Lugo (5th Place Apparel and Accessories) and Shannon Welton (5th Place Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling).
