XENIA — The Greene County Tea Party is hosting a meeting that aims to shed light on the electoral college system.

The Greene County Tea Party is hosting the public meeting, which is open to all, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 to present the background, history and requirements of the electoral college, which will include the US Constitution requirements. Much has been said recently on the popular vote without a complete and necessary understanding of the current process that has been used since the United States of America was born.

Greene County Tea Party officials said they are fortunate to have Jim Lewis and John Hindery, both Marines and now retired from industry continue to serve the country by becoming experts on the constitution. They teach apolitical constitution classes under the banner of “Building Blocks for Liberty” and teach the basic concepts and ideas about the founding fathers, natural law, republic vs democracy and more.

The event begins with a social opportunities at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28. Light refreshments will be served. It will take place at the Xenia Community Center, 2519 Second St.
