DAYTON — The League of Women Voters will meet for dinner and conversation at Thai 9 in the Oregon district at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12. Anyone interested in learning more about the League and its activities is invited to join the fun.

“We try to hold these casual dinners around the area every quarter or so,” said Patty Skilken, president of the Dayton area League. “This year’s election generated a huge interest in the political processes at work in our country, as evidenced by a big increase in new memberships in our League recently. The volunteers in our league are busy providing so many interesting activities and programs, that we sometimes just need to slow down for an evening and enjoy each other’s company. It’s a great time for new, and potential members to learn who we are and what we’re about.”

The dinner will be held at Thai 9, 11 Brown Street. Participants will order from the menu and pay for their own meal. A brief, informal program will be provided. If interested, please call the League office at 228-4041 so that the restaurant will have an idea of how many tables to reserve.

The League of Women Voters has worked for 97 years to encourage active and informed participation in government, increase understanding of major public policy issues and influence public policy through education and advocacy. The League of Women Voters is political, non-partisan and never supports a political party or candidate.
