FAIRBORN — Rashawn Cochran, 21; and Devon Cox, 22, have been named “people of interest” in connection to a Nov. 20 homicide investigation by the Fairborn Police.

Jarelle Plummer, 23, died Sunday, Nov. 20. Dispatch received a call approximately 8:41 p.m. in regards to noises coming from a nearby apartment, as well as a panicked woman running outside of the building, located on the 100 block of West Dayton-Yellow Springs Road.

“I don’t know if someone is hurt or what,” the first caller said.

Dispatch received second call from a female who said she was wearing the same outfit as the woman described in the first call, which indicated that she found Plummer inside the apartment surrounded by blood with a gun on the table. She told dispatchers that she was on the phone with Plummer, heard noises and other voices and decided to pay him a visit, which is when she found him on the ground. She said she was outside close to a nearby business when she made the call.

When officers arrived, they found Plummer inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital, where he would pass away due to his injuries.

The incident is still being investigated. Both people of interest have active warrants for aggravated robbery.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 937-754-3000; anonymous tips can be given by calling 937-754-3018.
