FAIRBORN — Five local Vietnam War veterans were honored at the Rebecca Galloway Chapter DAR Saturday during its monthly meeting.

The program was presented by retired Air Force veteran Fred Pumroy, who shared his tales of valor during the war before a proclamation by President Barack Obama was read and then presented to each veteran. In addition to the proclamation, each veteran was given a special pin and badge and was personally thanked by each DAR member.

A bountiful array of refreshments was then shared and members and guests enjoyed conversing together. All guests were reminded of the Honor Flight, which they are eligible for participation, and were sincerely thanked for their service to the country. After the guests left, the chapter held a brief meeting.
