YELLOW SPRINGS — The Dayton Foundation has awarded seven grants, totaling $18,780, to area not-for-profits as part of its Greenlight Grants program.

Greenlight Grants is a competitive funding program held quarterly for Greater Dayton nonprofits seeking quick, small grants for special projects, program expansions, capital improvements or capacity building.

Greenlight Grants were awarded to the following organizations:

Yellow Springs Senior Citizens received $2,100 to assist in constructing an office for private consultations.

Meanwhile, several other local organizations received grants, such as the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, the Grater Dayton Union Cooperative Initiative, the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton, the National Society to Prevent Blindness, the Ohio Historical Society/National Afro-American Museun and Coltural Center and the Women’s Club of Dayton Foundation.

Grants are approved to promote efforts in the areas of arts and culture, health, education, human services, philanthropy and other community-building endeavors. Since the program launched earlier this year, a total of $78,557 in Greenlight Grants have been awarded to 28 local nonprofits.

The deadline to submit an application for the next Greenlight Grant cycle is Thursday, Dec. 1. Full eligibility requirements, guidelines and application are available at www.daytonfoundation.org/greenlightgrnts.html.
