Beavercreek DECA competitors win awards

BEAVERCREEK — Beavercreek marketing students made an incredible showing at the DECA District 4 Fall Leadership Conference. The event pitted competing teams and individuals from various DECA chapters in the region. Beavercreek came away with five first place medals including a perfect score in Sales Demonstration by Michael Joiner. Mrs. Heather Sproull serves as Greene County Career Center’s marketing teacher at Beavercreek High School.

The following students placed in their events:

Sarah Alcorn and Megan Shively – 1st Place, Buying and Merchandising Team

Chelsea Fields and Jared Buckingham – 1st Place, Travel and Tourism Team

Treyben Funderburg and Isaac Smith – 1st Place, Sports and Entertainment Team

Michael Joiner – 1st Place, Sales Demonstration Heat #3 **Perfect Score**

Taylor Hames – 1st Place, Retail Merchandising Blue Series

Shannon Welton – 2nd Place, Sales Demonstration Heat #2 *Tied for 1st Place (tie-breaker determination)

Aaron Miller and Maddy Schaeffer – 2nd Place, Buying and Merchandising Team

Megan Steele – 2nd Place, Sales Demonstration Heat #3

Nick Thurston – 2nd Place, Human Resource Management Blue Series

Kyra Vaughn – 2nd Place, Quick Serve Restaurant Management Blue Series

Micayla Joiner – 3rd Place, Hotel and Lodging Management *Tied for 2nd Place (tie-breaker determination)

Aly Petering – 3rd Place, Sports and Entertainment Gold Series

Jacob Reeves – 3rd Place ,Sports and Entertainment Blue Series

Leah Fishback – Top 10 Public Relations
