XENIA — A bi-partisan meet the candidates event is aiming to allow Greene County voters the opportunity to put a face behind the local names they’ll see on the November ballot.

Sponsored by the Greene County Tea Party, the event will be held 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Xenia Adult Recreation and Services Center, 130 E. Church St. Federal, State and county candidates have been invited to participate.

From 6-7 p.m., voters will be able to chat informally one-on-one with candidates who are running unopposed for their respective offices. Beginning at 7 p.m., candidates in contested races will speak for up to three minutes each. Contested races include the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate, the Ohio House and Senate, Ohio Supreme Court and State Board of Education.

It will also offer information on county-level issues, such as the Greene County Vocational Schools .75 mill renewal levy and the Greene Memorial Hospital 0.5 mill renewal levy.

Following the formal presentation, voters can meet one-on-one with candidates during a social hour. Coffee and cookies will be served. For more information contact Carolyn Uecker of the Greene County Tea Party 937-318-7393.
