XENIA — When showing market hogs, not everything goes as planned.

The stands were filled in the swine barn all day Tuesday.

Justin Snider of Jamestown ran into a problem this year. Originally, Snider had two hogs. Snider said, “One ran through a warsh rack, hit it’s leg on a bail fork, and cracked it.”

It was very dissappointing but after five years of showing hogs he would never quit doing what he loves.

Snider received second in his class last year and was excited to show again.

Snider said, “I’ve always been good with hogs so I stick with it.”

Sticking with hogs was easy for Justin Snider and it will be for Lilly Frizzell of Springfield.

This year was Frizzel’s first year showing hogs and it was a great year for her. Frizzel won first in the stimulus class.

Frizzell started showing hogs because, “I’ve always wanted to try it.” Frizzel has been involved in 4-H for five years and has horses and chickens too.

Just like Snider, Frizzell ran into a challenge. Frizzell’s hog started growing too fast so she had to keep the hog off of feed.

This year has been filled with new and exciting experiences for Frizzell. Her first year staying at the fair and said, “It has been a lot of fun.”

Frizzell said she would like to thank all of her friends and family for helping and supporting her.

At the end of the show, the Overall Grand Champion was Grace Morris and the Overall Reserve Champion was Miyanna Vest.
