Fundraising professionals honored in Dayton

DAYTON — The Association of Fundraising Professionals Greater Dayton Region Chapter will host its 26th Annual National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon, presented by CareSource 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Sinclair Community College Ponitz Center, 444 W 3rd St. Members of the community are invited to join in the celebration and pay tribute to eight local honorees in the areas of volunteerism, foundation and corporate philanthropy, and executive fundraising.

The 2015 National Philanthropy Day® Honorees are: Outstanding Philanthropist: Lisa Hanauer & Susan Spiegel, nominated by AIDS Resource Center Ohio; Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: Dr. Michael Ervin, nominated by Downtown Dayton Partnership; Outstanding Fundraising Executive: Michael Parks, nominated by The Dayton Foundation Outstanding Foundation: Jack W. and Sally D. Eichelberger Foundation, nominated by The Human Race Theatre Company; Outstanding Large Corporation: Synchrony Financial, nominated by Nancy Slezak; Outstanding Small Corporation: Tobin Brothers Moving & Storage, nominated by The Foodbank; Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (18-23): University of Dayton Distance 4 Dreams, nominated by A Special Wish Foundation – Dayton Chapter; Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy (5-17): Max Mader, nominated by The Levin Family Foundation.

Event Co-Chair Erin Cole said, “The slate of honorees for 2015 is a remarkable representation of the spirit of generosity that is so strong in our community. There are many exceptional philanthropists in Greater Dayton, and we are delighted to honor these amazing individuals, corporations and foundations.”

Individual tickets to the event are priced at $40 for members and $60 for non-members. Event sponsorships are available.
