FAIRBORN — The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Greene County is sponsoring a student send-off picnic for all new students who will be entering OSU this fall. The event is planned to give incoming students the opportunity to meet each other and get their questions answered by a panel of current OSU students.

Parents are also encouraged to attend to become acquainted with alumni leaders, students and other local parents. There is no charge for attendees, but advanced reservations are required.

The picnic event is scheduled for 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, at Fairborn Community Park East, Shelter #2. Dress is casual OSU attire. The event will be held rain or shine.

Picnic food will be provided by the Greene County Alumni Club at no charge. Special guest Larry Lokai of Urbana (the Buckeyeman) will present each new student with a Buckeye necklace. Local members of the OSU Alumni Band of Greene County will provide spirited music for the event.
