Unitarian Universalist program

YELLOW SPRINGS — The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Yellow Springs will present “A Serious Discussion with Bubba” starting 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 30. Peter Whitson has written a mostly-true life radio play about the life and times of a local family’s canine family member, Bubba. It will focus on how pets become a part of the family and when families lose them, it is a loss to the family unit as a whole. It asks questions about life, family and loss of what individuals love most. A discussion will follow the presentation. Coffee, snacks and conversation will follow beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Local church hosting craft bazaar

FAIRBORN — Maple Heights Baptist Church, 144 Funderburg Road, is hosting a craft bazaar 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. It will include a variety of unique crafts, handmade gifts and baked goodies. To reach Maple Heights Baptist Church, call 937-878-3333.

Holiday bazaar set

BEAVERCREEK — St. Andrew United Methodist Church will host a holiday bazaar 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 at the church, 350 North Fairfield Road. The ladies of the church have been busy making crafts during the year to benefit the mission work of St. Andrew through the upcoming bazaar.

In addition to holiday crafts, there will be the popular attic treasures, used toys, sweet shoppe, used book, tapes and CDs, cookie walk, theme baskets, artisan’s gallery, bake shoppe, silent auction and pre-owned children’s clothing. Lunch with homemade pies will be served 9:30-3 and Santa will visit from 11-1 p.m. with pictures available.

Free clothing

FAIRBORN — The Fairborn United Methodist Church is starting its fifth year at the free clothing store, The Family Closet, located at Fairborn United Methodist Church, at 100 N. Broad St. During 2014, the church offered free clothing, coats and shoes to 298 families including 461 adults, 103 teens and 343 children.

The hours of operation for The Family Closet are 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and the first and third Saturdays of each month from 9-11 a.m. Check with the church 937-878-5042 before holidays to make sure it is open. All clothing is donated whether it is used or new. Anyone needing clothing is welcome to come.
