FAIRBORN — The Fairborn Community Library, 1 E. Main Street, has a variety of programs for all ages scheduled throughout the month of August. To register for any of these events, call the library at 937-878-9383.

Story times

PJ Family Story Time for ages 3-6 with adult 6:30-7 p.m. Mondays 22.

Toddler Story Time for ages 24-36 month with adult, 10:30-11 a.m. Tuesdays, Aug. 9, 16, 23 and 10:30-11 a.m. Fridays, Aug. 12, 19 and 26.

Preschool Story Time for ages 3-5 years old, 10:30-11 a.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 10, 17, 24 and 31 and 12:30-1 p.m. Thursdays, Aug. 11, 18 and 25.

Baby and Me Story Time for ages 3-24 months with an adult: 10:30-11 a.m. Fridays, Aug. 12, 19 and 26.

Breakfast Buddies Family Story Time for ages 2-6 years old with an adult, 10:30-11:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27. Registration required.

Children’s programs

PAWS for Reading for ages 5-12 years old, 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16. The Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association brings dogs (and maybe a cat) to the library.

LEGO Mania for grades K-8, 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9. Spend an hour with friends and Legos. The library provide the Legos, books and space. Registration required.

Graeter’s Ice Cream 101 for grades 1-5, 4-5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. Join participants at the library for dry ice experiments and learn how ice cream is made. Registration required.

Book Nuts Book Club for grades 3-5, 4-5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26 and 4-5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26. This summer, the library will be reading “The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell by Chris Colfer.” Registration required.

Yoga for Kids for grades 1-5, 4-5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Kids will have fun while learning the basics of yoga. Registration required.

Teen programs

Japanimania for grades 6-12, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9. Are you a fan of all things Japanese? Watch Anime, discuss Manga and cosplay, create crafts and more.

The Whovians Club for grades 6-12, 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. A group for creative, humorous and obsessed fans of Doctor Who meet. Registration required.

DIY Wednesday for grades 6-12, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24. Feeling crafty? Get creative with this month’s do-it-yourself project. Registration required.

Adult programs

Healthy Tailgates for adults, 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11. Brenda Sandman-Stover from OSU Extension spices up your party with healthier tailgate foods. Registration required.

Creative Craft Hour for Adults: Mixed Media for adutls, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. Decoupage pretty papers onto polymer clay. Use quality art materials and learn new techniques. Registration required.

Writers Group for adults, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13. Shared leadership, feedback, inspiration and support. Suitable for writers with current projects, as well as those starting out. Registration required.

Casual Conversation for New and Seasoned English Speakers for adults, 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15. English learners will enjoy easy conversation with native or advanced English speakers in a relaxed atmosphere. Open to adults learning English, or those who enjoy getting to know new friends from around the world. Registration required.

Genealogy Jump Start for adults, 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18. Find out how to begin exploring your genealogy. A librarian will help you prepare for the adventure. Registration required.

Family Craft: Bead Making for adults, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Anne Breden leads this intergenerational program for beginning and skilled crafters. Registration required.

Gallifreyan Society for adults, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Adult Fans of Doctor Who, Allons-Y! Activities, crafts, watch episodes, discussions, play games. Registration required.

Library Knitting Group for adults, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22. Beginners and experienced knitters gather to knit and chat. Registration required.

Mystery Book Discussion Group: The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie for adults, 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24. Join us to discuss the first book in Alan Bradley’s Flavia de Luce series, in which we meet an 11-year-old chemist, with a passion for poison. Registration required.

Write Your Resume — Beginner for adults, 6-7:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29. Get help putting together a resume you can use right now then modify it later for the next big job opportunity. Registration required.

Revise Your Resume — Advanced for adults, 6-7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30. In this resume updating workshop, make your employment history and skills look better than ever. Registration required.

The Heroin Epidemic and Project DAWN for adults, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31. Staff from TCN Behavioral Health Services will talk about heroin in Greene County, and Project Deaths Avoided with Naloxone. Free Naloxone kits will be available to adults with valid ID. Registration required.
