FAIRBORN — Norfolk Southern Railroad recently contacted the City of Fairborn stating the need to postpone the necessary railroad work, which will close State Route 235/Xenia Drive beginning Monday, Aug. 8, through Thursday, Aug. 11.

As with any type of roadwork, the weather may play a factor and could potentially delay work.

The railroad work was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 8 until Saturday, Aug. 6.

Due to the closure, drivers coming from I-675 will need to exit at either the Dayton-Yellow Springs Road exit, one exit south of SR-235, or the Broad Street/444 exit, one exit north of SR-235, when heading towards downtown Fairborn.

Northbound traffic on SR-235 will be re-routed through Yellow Springs-Fairfield Road and Black Lane up to Broad Street. Southbound traffic on SR-235 will be re-routed through SR-444 and W. Dayton-Yellow Springs Road.
