FAIRBORN — Rouven Loch, 22, was shot after police say he pointed a gun at them after exiting a residence on Eastview Drive in Fairborn. He was shot after an hours-long standoff in Fairborn Monday evening.

Police say they believe Loch is the suspect wanted for a string of robberies that happened last Friday. Seven convenience stores were robbed beginning Thursday night into Friday.

SWAT teams, Dayton and Fairborn Police blocked roads and surrounded a home in the 1300 block of Eastview Drive for several hours. Authorities eventually used tear gas to get Loch to come out of the house.

Loch came out of the house and that’s when police say he pointed a weapon at officers and was shot. He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where, according to the Montgomery County Coroner, he died Tuesday morning.
