Beavercreek resident and Dayton Christian High School senior, Jessica Curry signed her letter of intent to play volleyball with Ohio Christian University last week in the high school’s library.

“It was so exciting,” said Curry. “I was so happy that all the people I care about were there.”

Curry led the Metro Buckeye Conference with 89 aces in the regular season. She was named to the first team all-conference, second team all-district, the district all-academic team, and the district senior all-star team.

“Jessica is a passionate athlete who constantly challenges her teammates to be better competitors,” said varsity volleyball coach Jessica Goodman. “She is driven and motivated to be the best she can be, both as an individual and as a team member. I look forward to seeing her pursue Christ alongside her academic and athletic goals at Ohio Christian University. I am so proud of her!”

Curry, who has played volleyball since fifth grade, is looking forward to playing for OCU.

“I visited the school, and I loved the atmosphere. I could really see the real Christianity on display,” Curry said. “And I love the coach.”

Curry plans to study psychology and criminal justice at OCU and minor in coaching.

“I would like to thank my high school coach, Jessica Goodman, who helped me so much with my college decision,” said Curry about her scholarship. “She taught me about teamwork, and she has helped me learn what it entails to be a leader both on and off the court.”
