Harding remains Compacts leader

XENIA — Call it a clerical error on sports editor John Bombatch’s part, but Columbus driver Dusty Harding remains the Compacts Division points leader in the Gem City Auto Racing series point standings. Bombatch tabulated the standings based on the qualifying results and not Sunday’s June 4 feature result, which was won by Riverside’s Bo Hoelscher. Harding placed second in the 13-car field to extend his points lead to 21 points over fellow Columbus driver Corey Kyer, who finished third at Sunday’s race at Kil-Kare Raceway.

The top-10 Compact Division drivers standings are as follows (Ranking, name, hometown, points): 1. Dusty Harding, Columbus — 160; 2. Corey Kyer, Columbus(w) — 139; 3. Trey Gregory, Columbus(w,w) — 103; 4. Jimmy McElfresh, Columbus — 90; 5. Nick Barrett, Kettering — 70; 6.(tie) Matt Hagood, Columbus, Chris Lucas n/a — 60; 8.(tie) Jimmy Devouno, Obetz, Dillon Higgenbothom, Columbus, Bo Hoelscher, Riverside(w) — 50.

(w) indicates races won.
