PEPPER PIKE — Morgan Arbogast and Lucia Eroshevich tossed complete games and the Lady Jackets clinched the No. 1 seed in next week’s Great Midwest Athletic Conference softball tournament with a sweep at Ursuline College.

Cedarville defeated the Arrows by scores of 3-2 and 8-3 to improve its season record to 29-15 overall and 20-4 G-MAC.

The conference tournament returns to the Athletes in Action Sports Complex, May 4-6 in Xenia.

In the opener, the Jackets scored all three of their runs in the fourth inning. Elyssa Reyes singled in one before Heather Lord ripped a two-run double.

Arbogast, 12-7, retired 10 of the last 11 batters she faced. She allowed two earned runs and struck out four.

Cedarville broke a 1-1 deadlock in the nightcap with a five-run second inning. Eroshevich took it from there allowing three unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Danielle Wolgamot finished with three hits including a pair of doubles and an RBI. Sarah Parsons added two hits with a double and Reyes tallied two hits.

Brianne O’Dell stole two bases and scored three runs. Lord scored twice.

Neither Arbogast nor Eroshevich walked a batter.

Nine different players contributed to the team’s 13 hits in the second game.

Wolgamot was 9-for-15 (.600) at the plate in the four-game series.

Cedarville has won 24 of its last 29 games and finished 12-2 on the road.
