CEDARVILLE — The Cedarville women’s cross country team was nearly perfect in winning its Friendship Cross Country Meet at the Elvin R. King course Sept. 17.

The Yellow Jackets sported the top three finishers in the 5K race, along with the sixth and seventh runners to win with 19 points. Cincinnati was a distant second with 54 points.

Xenia native Daniel Michalski won the men’s race in 25:25.4 to help Cedarville win the mens 8K race. Cedarville had four in the top 10 and a fifth in 11th to score 36 points and easily distance itself from second-place Alabama-Huntsville, which had 66 points.

Cedarville’s Wyatt Hartman (26:28.2) was sixth, followed by Ethan Sullivan (26:35.9) in sixth, Zac Bowen (26:44.8) in 10th and Matt Pelletier (26:46.2) in 11th.

On the men’s side, junior Andrew Lake set the pace with an 8K time of 27:04 and finishing 18th overall. The men were seventh. Wright State returns to action on Friday, Sept. 30, at the All-Ohio Championships, which will once again be hosted by Cedarville University.
