Remembering Judge Edmund Munger

XENIA — Born in Montgomery County, Judge Edmund Munger attended Xenia Academy as a young man before entering Miami University. While a student there he was one of the founders of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He completed his education in Danville, Ky. where he was valedictorian of the 1848 graduating class. He came to Bellbrook to open a school for young men and women. He decided to study law and passed the bar in 1851. He served as prosecutor in Greene County from 1860-66, and then was appointed judge of the common pleas court, serving from 1868-72.
