DAYTON — Brandon Smith shot a team-leading 96, Noah Myers finished with a 107, Everett Tye shot a 108 and Sarah Pitts scored a 137 as the Cedarville golf team finished 12th in the Ridge Classic golf tournament, Friday at Kittyhawk Golf Club. Bellbrook won the event with a 311 team total, six strokes ahead of Eaton. Cedarville shot a 448 team total.

XENIA — Bryan Northrup shot a match-low 42 while Rams teammate Griffin Bailey shot a 43 to lead Greeneview (2-1, 1-0 Ohio Heritage Conference) to Thursday’s high school golf win over Cedarville (0-1, 0-1 OHC) at Sebastian Hills Golf Club. Zach Halder (45), Jerico Brown and Daniel Sage (both 46s) also scored well for the Rams.

Firestorm tryouts Aug. 23 and 27
FAIRBORN — The Firestorm Fast Pitch Select girls softball team will be holding team tryouts from 10 a.m.-noon Aug. 23 for 10U and 12U athletes, and from 6-8 p.m. Aug. 27 for 10U, 12U and 14U at Fairborn Community Park, located on 691 Dayton-Yellow Springs Road just west of Fairborn High School.

Skyhawk Athletic Club seeking members
FAIRBORN — The Skyhawk Athletic Club is seeking members for 2014-2015. The Xenia High School cheerleaders, in cooperation with the Xenia Touchdown Club and Trophy Sports, are now taking orders for “BEAT CREEK” T-shirts. The cost is $10 for sizes XS-XL (additional charge for larger shirts). Orders must be turned in no later than Tuesday, Aug. 19 for delivery by Wednesday, Aug. 27. Make Plays Today basketball camp, Aug. 17
CENTERVILLE — Wade O’Connor will host a Make Plays Today youth basketball camp from 1-4 p.m. Aug. 17 at Spring Valley Academy, 1461 E. Spring Valley Road, in Centerville. The camp’s goal is to “impact lives with our Purpose, Passion, Potential and Platform in Life.” A suggested registration donation is $30 per child, maximum $50 per family. Four WSU men’s soccer named pre-season all-Horizon
FAIRBORN — Four members of the Wright State men’s soccer team were selected to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-Horizon League Teams that were announced on Wednesday.
Junior forward Brett Elder and senior defender Emeka Ononye were chosen to the First Team while sophomore forward Eric Lynch and sophomore defender Jake Stovall were named to the Second Team.
Wright State begins exhibition play AT 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, as the Raiders travel to Virginia Tech. WSU then visits Marquette at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug., 24, before opening the regular season at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at Alumni Field with a matchup against Kentucky.
