CEDARVILLE 63, DAVIS & ELKINS 58: Marcus Reineke led the Cedarville men’s basketball team with 18 points, Leighton Smith tossed in a dozen points, and Lane Vander Hulst added 11 points of his own in Thursday’s Great Midwest Athletic Conference home win in the Callan Athletic Center. Cedarville (4-11 overall, 2-1 G-MAC) will host division leading Alderson Broaddus at 4:15 p.m. today in the Callan Athletic Center.

DAVIS & ELKINS 76, CEDARVILLE 75: In a tight Great Midwest Athletic Conference battle throughout, visiting Davis & Elkins eked out a one-point win Thursday in Cedarville. Stephanie Wooten scored a game-high 21 points for D&E. Kaysie Brittenham led Cedarville (6-8 overall, 2-2 G-MAC) with a 16 point night. Teammates Kayla Jenrette, Deborah Gordon and Kayla Linkous also finished in double figures for the Yellow Jackets with 13, 11 and 10 points respectively. Gordon was also the game’s top rebounder with 11. The Yellow Jackets host Alderson Broaddus at 2 p.m. today.
Four Raiders earn all-academic honors
FAIRBORN — The Horizon League released its fall all-academic teams on Thursday, and four Wright State student-athletes — Dan Shafer (men’s cross country), Emilie Fillion and Brooke McCurdy (women’s soccer) and Heidi Splinter (women’s volleyball) — were recognized.
All four are repeat honorees, having received the same recognition during the 2012-13 season, with Dan Shafer of the men’s cross country team also being selected in 2011-12.
To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 36 quarter-hour credits. Faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors in the league make the selections to the teams.
Former Dragons invited to Reds camp
DAYTON — Four former members of the Dayton Dragons have received non-roster invitations to Major League spring training camp with the Cincinnati Reds. Pitchers and catchers will report to Goodyear, Ariz. on Feb. 14 while the balance of the squad will report on Feb. 19.
Right-handed pitchers Robert Stephenson, Drew Hayes, Michael Lorenzen, and Tim Crabbe, all former Dragons, are among the 15 players who have been invited to big league camp as non-roster additions. A total of 23 former Dragons are on the Reds 40-man roster and will also attend Major League camp.
Reds offering half-price Hall of Fame tickets
CINCINNATI — In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the Reds Hall of Fame Museum will be offering half-price admission on Monday, Jan. 20. Discounted prices are $5 for adults and $4 for students and seniors. Active military, veterans and children four and younger can get in free. Bellbrook seeking track & field coaches
BELLBROOK — Bellbrook High School has posted supplemental contract postings for a head varsity girls and boys track and field coach, or coaches. A written letter of interest/application should be directed to the Superintendent’s office by noon, Jan. 22. All letters must be directed to the Board of Education and not the building principal or athletic director.
