Come to me: I am your peace

Jesus said, “I am the Way, Truth, and Life, come to me if you are heavy laden and troubled and I’ll give you rest for your soul. In this world, you will have tribulation, but in Me you will find peace.”

He said that He is our peace. Why not try what He says? He does not lie. He is the Truth. I am 77 years old, and I think I should know what I’m talking about: been there, done that.

For so many years I did it my way. When I look back at my life, I deserved death. He had a plan for me, and now I know why He brought me to this point in life. He has a plan for all of us. As soon as we find out what we are to do for Him, then there is hope.

Yes, the world is full of sin and trouble, but if we repent of our sins and follow Jesus, we’ll be just in this world, not of it. Jesus is our ticket to heaven, yet it’s going to be hard down here because man is evil.

People say, “What do you mean, man is evil?” “I’m not evil,” they say. We were born with an evil spirit because of the sin in the beginning. We inherited it from our first parents and that’s why Jesus came down here to fix it for us.

So many say, “I can’t believe that. It just doesn’t seem like anything like that could have happened. God said that you have to have a change of heart or you’ll never believe with the mind we have.

We are to have the mind of Christ and turn from our evil ways. We’ll have the hope of heaven as we travel through this evil world. Death belongs to Satan, but Jesus Christ is the Life that we can have here and the life to come.

As long as we are in this evil world, we’ll have trouble because Satan wants us so badly that He will do anything he can to get us. There is a battle going on between good and evil. If you walk with Jesus, you win. It’s going to be a rough trip, but it will be worth in the end.

Just think, the land of heaven: beauty, love, singing, maybe dancing, and praising the name of the One that made us for His glory in the first place. I know there are some that need to hear what I write and some don’t want to believe what I write. Maybe there are some things that some won’t like because man has a mind that wants to fight you and tell you that that’s not the way they read it in the Bible.

Even the ones that think they know it all won’t want to listen to the way I write. Yes, I know I don’t know it all, but I’ll never know it all until I get to heaven. Let me say this, I never was very smart all through growing up. I was called “little dummy”. They said that I wouldn’t amount to anything.

But guess what? Jesus died for me and He knows what man don’t know. He had His eyes on me when I was growing up. No matter what people called me, Jesus had plans for me because I was His child.

Maybe I’m not doing what some think, but I’m not to please man, only God. I know I say things sometimes that don’t make sense, but find it for yourself in the Bible. I try to get into your heart in a lot of different ways by making it simple for you to understand.

For most people the Bible is hard to understand. That’s why we are to help whomever we can in ways that won’t seem right for the know-it-alls. God made it easy. We are to teach others that are kind of slow in learning. That’s why I try to get it inside your heart the best way I can.

Yes, I know I’ll be questioned, talked about by some, but people don’t worry me any more. I will do the best I can. Further more, you can’t please man anyhow. I’m not supposed to. I have been talked about the wrong way a whole lot in life.

I can’t hardly believe that I have been through so much turmoil in my life time. Jesus had to be with me through it all. I’m so glad that I listened to Him when He said, “Charlie, follow me, my child. I love you.” Now, if that doesn’t make a new person out of you, nothing will.

There will always be nay-sayers, but I keep my eyes on Jesus. He’ll lead me. He wants me to keep on telling people what He says. “Make it simple, Charlie, so lots of people will listen and come to me.” It’s all about Jesus. “Lean not on your own understanding,” the Bible says. Doing it your way you lose, plain and simple.
