FAIRBORN — Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) will host the “Value of the Library: Libraries Leading to Student Success” conference from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, at the Wright State Nutter Center. Registration opens at 9:30 a.m.
In an age of continually growing digitization, globalization, and abundant information, the value of academic libraries is greater than ever before. Libraries remain central to research and education as they ensure information access, foster innovation, encourage collaborative research, and promote information literacy skills vital to the success of tomorrow’s leaders.
This year at Wright State University, SOCHE will focus on libraries leading to student success, and the overall value of the library. Keynote speakers will be Regina Mays and Rachel Fleming-May.
Fleming-May, Assistant Professor in the University of Tennessee’s School of Information Sciences, will be focusing on the library’s contribution to student success and teaching and learning.
Mays is Assistant Professor and Assessment Librarian at the University of Tennessee Libraries. She will be focusing on a comprehensive approach to library value.
