XENIA — Honoring Your Life’s Passion: Wills, Trusts and Estates will be hosted by Greene County Parks & Trails (GCP&T) beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the park agency headquarters, 575 Ledbetter Road.
The seminar will feature local attorneys and estate specialists David Pendry, Pendry, Root & Pendry and Peter Stephan, Stephan & Stephan, as guest speakers.
Bequests by will, life insurance, retirement funds, charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts, charitable gift annuities and outright gifts will be discussed by Pendry and Stephan. Participants will learn about honoring their life’s passions by planning ahead through creating an estate plan; Pendry and Stephan will share the steps and conversations needed to create an individual or family estate plan.
The estate planning seminar will not be specific to the park agency, says the GCP&T director and the information will be vital to meeting a wide variety of charitable goals.
“Everyone is encouraged and welcomed to attend,” says GCP&T Director Chrisbell Bednar, “no matter what their interests in supporting with an estate. We want everyone to understand the process in creating an estate plan regardless of the wishes or outcome. I would hope that everyone leaves this seminar feeling comfortable about beginning a conversation with their family and attorney to create an estate plan that honors their life and their passion.”
The seminar is free and open to the public with light refreshments served.
Pre-registrations are requested and can be made by calling GCP&T at 937-562-6440 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
