XENIA — JoAnn Harris will speak during the 11 a.m. worship service at Holy Trinity AME Church Sunday, Aug. 31.

Harris serves as the Missionary Society president of the Third Episcopal District which includes Ohio, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania. Insights will be shared on the topic: “Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones, But Words Can Never Hurt, or Can They?”

Harris has extensive experience within the AME church. Having served as director of the Ohio conference and director of the Young People Department at the local and district levels, she is able to use her extensive knowledge to identify and promote missionary programs that benefit youth and adults across Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Locally, missionary projects include supplying shoes and meals to needy families, providing personal-care supplies to college students, and providing mentors for freshmen students at Wilberforce University.

The public is invited to attend this event. Holy Trinity AME Church is located at 1230 Wilberforce-Clifton Road, Wilberforce.
