ENON — The Rebecca Galloway Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, recently attended the annual awards program at Indian Valley Middle School to present their DAR Youth Citizenship Award.

DAR member Barbara Arnold presented the award to eighth grader Montant Hayslip. The school staff nominated Hayslip for her honor, service to her class and the school, and her courage. In addition to her certificate and medal, Hayslip received a copy of the Constitution, Flag Etiquette, a 9/11 flag and a blank genealogy chart so she could start her own family tree.

Other eighth grade nominees included Julian Boling, Madelyn Eggeman, Kylie GmucA, Kendra Gochenhouer, Mariah Gossett, Amanda Remmetter, Rachel Ruff, Elysia Smith, MacKenzie Strange and Maleigha Young.

This was the last year the 8th grade would be at this location. In 2014-2015 all 7th and 8th graders will move to the Greenon Campus.
