XENIA — A large crowd of Greene County retired teachers gathered for a winter meeting and luncheon at Memorial Presbyterian Church on Feb. 26.

In addition to a Necrology Memorial remembrance of retired teachers who passed away within the previous year, a business meeting was held, and guest speaker Dan Trick talked to the members about the area Junior Achievement program for kindergarten through 12th grade. Junior Achievement empowers young people to own their economic success.

Several grade-specific programs are available for elementary school age, middle school age, and high school age students. Junior Achievement programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers with hands-on experiences that give the students age-appropriate knowledge and skills in financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship. www.ja.org.

Greene County Retired Teachers convene four times per year for a luncheon and informational meeting. Retired Greene County educators are welcome. Contact membership chairman Gale Adkins at 937-392-3611 or visit www.gcrta.greeneesc.org.
