GREENVILLE - Two minor children were hospitalized after striking a semi Wednesday evening near Greenville.

According to an officer on the scene, just before 7 p.m. a Honda Civic struck a semi at the intersection of US 36 East and State Route 571 just outside the Greenville city limits. Both vehicles were westbound on US 36 as the Honda reportedly struck the rear of the semi as it slowed to turn onto the ramp to US 127 northbound.

Two minor children from the Honda were transported to Wayne HealthCare before being taken to Childrens Medical Center where their condition is unreported, the male driver refused transport after he was treated at the scene. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation with the Greenville Police Department and the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
