DAYTON – The Dayton Foundation held its inaugural Scholarship CONNECT Luncheon at the Dayton Racquet Club, bringing together more than 100 Dayton Foundation scholarship fund donors and their scholarship recipients for a celebration and appreciation ceremony on July 30. Two Fairborn residents were among those recognized. Arianna Wagers and Audrey Cowell are NORCO scholarship recipients who both graduated from Fairborn High School.

The event gave donors an opportunity to learn more about the difference they are making in the lives of local students. Additionally, scholarship recipients expressed their gratitude and shared their plans for the future, thanks in part to the donors’ awards.

“Over the past 10 years, more than $13 million has been awarded from Dayton Foundation scholarship funds to help nearly 11,000 students go to college,” said Dayton Foundation President Michael M. Parks. “We are so grateful for the visionary leadership of our donors and the important work that is happening through their funds to assist future leaders in obtaining an education.”

The scholarship application process for the 2016-2017 academic year will be open starting Dec. 15.
