XENIA — All motorcycle enthusiasts and riders are invited to join a charity motorcycle ride Saturday, Sept. 6. The 23rd Annual Rusty’s Ride Charity Motorcycle Ride is held in memory of Buckminn’s employee, Russell “Rusty” Shearer.
The ride will begin at Buckminn’s D&D Harley-Davidson in Xenia. Presented by the Xenia HOG Chapter 2703 and sponsored by Buckminn’s D&D Harley-Davidson, this event is a fundraiser that supports the efforts of the Greene Community Health Foundation.
The scenic ride leaves from and returns to Buckminn’s, located at 1213 Cincinnati Ave. in Xenia. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with the last bike leaving by 12 p.m. The cost is $20 for riders and $10 for passengers.
All makes of bikes are welcome and the first 250 registered riders will receive a free Rusty’s Ride commemorative bandana. A plaque will be awarded to the largest group in attendance at the ride. Alcohol is prohibited at this ride.
Upon return to Buckminn’s, participants can enjoy a hog roast with homemade desserts provided by chapter members. At 3 p.m., a raffle and an auction will be held featuring biker-related items and gift baskets donated and provided by local community members and businesses. In addition, a quilt, crafted and donated by the Ladies of Harley, will be raffled.
The Greene Community Health Foundation would like to thank the Rusty’s Ride event coordinators, Xenia HOG Chapter 2703 and Buckminn’s D&D Harley-Davidson, for their ongoing support, generosity and dedication.
