Career center hosts open house

XENIA – The Greene County Career Center will hold its annual open house and chili supper 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21. The event is free and open to the public and provides an opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn more about the school’s programs and services.

Greene County Career Center offers career-technical programs and academic instruction for high school juniors and seniors. Main campus programs include Auto Collision Repair, Automotive Technology, Building and Property Maintenance, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Digital Media, Electrical Wiring and Motor Controls, Equine Science, Food and Hospitality, Health Science, Information Technology, Natural Resource Technology, Power Equipment Mechanics, Veterinary Science and Welding and Metal Fabrication.

The open house will allow visitors to see each of the school’s career-technical programs and meet the teaching staff. Representatives from the admissions office will be in the cafeteria to answer questions and computers will be available for students and parents who wish to complete an application for the 2016-17 school year. Information on college scholarships, free college credit and industry certifications will be available as well. Clark State Community College and Sinclair Community College representatives will also be on hand.
