New local coffee, deli shop to open in downtown Fairborn

FAIRBORN — Fairborn City Manager Rob Anderson referred to downtown Fairborn as a “coffee desert,” in a recent Facebook live video but also announced in the same post that the local caffeine drought would come to an end as a new coffee and sandwich shop would soon open on the first block of West Main Street.

“We’re looking to have something fun, neat, exciting and hopefully great for everybody who lives and works in this area,” Owner Lawren Williams said. “We’re excited to do it.”

Williams, of Fairborn, also owns Corner Cone and Williams Eatery in Yellow Springs, according to the video. Anderson said the new dining option is subject to open at the commencement of 2018 at 2 W. Main St., on the corner of Central Avenue and Main Street.

“We’re doing this with a hometown guy,” Anderson said. “Lawren is a Fairborn guy — grew up in Fairborn, lives in Fairborn — we’re doing this with Fairborn people. We’re not bringing people from outside to do this, we’re rebuilding Fairborn with Fairborn people.”

The menu will include items such as espresso and coffee drinks as well as sandwiches. It also faces the potential to offer delivery services. The name of the business will be announced at a later date.

Just around the corner, the City of Fairborn also includes Reza’s Roast, a local coffee roaster located at 611 W. Yellow Springs-Fairfield Road.
