Snap Fitness’ membership doubles after move

XENIA — Xenia Snap Fitness’s location change to West Park Square has provided new features and a new atmosphere to the gym and personal training studio.

According to Corey Jackowski, owner and head personal trainer, since its Feb. 19 opening day, Snap Fitness Xenia’s gym membership has nearly doubled.

Jackowski felt constricted at his previous location near the Xenia Walmart.

“It had half the square-footage I have now,” Jackowski said. “The gym was out-dated, run-down.”

Because of expanding membership and a desire to update the look of the gym, Jackowski decided to move to a larger facility.

The new location features cardio and strength-training equipment it did not have at its previous location. Jackowski noted a new and popular edition to the 1822 West Park Square location has been the turf room, which is a 15 by 100 foot area covered in artificial turf. The turf room is used by many athletes for training, but it’s also used for Snap Fitness’s group classes, such as Zumba, yoga, and various bootcamps — “Guts n’ Butts” being a popular option, according to Jackowski.

“It’s great for strengthening your core,” he said.

Many of Snap Fitness’s gyms have been undergoing a process of modernization, Jackowski said. Xenia Snap Fitness revamped its look: red walls and equipment, flat-screen HDTVs, and a divider featuring an edgy American flag collage decorate the gym.

Xenia Snap Fitness is open to members 24/7; staffed hours are can be viewed on the gym’s website at www.snapfitness.com/xeniaoh.
