BEAVERCREEK — Soin Medical Center hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Dona Sheley Women’s Health Center on June 14.

Soin Medical Center will hold an open house for the new center 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 20. The public is invited to tour the new center. A panel of physicians will be available to answer women’s health questions. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

The Dona Sheley Women’s Health Center now offers a comprehensive range of women’s health services in one convenient location. The center features a new Kettering Breast Evaluation Center, offering patients a relaxing environment that is easily accessible from any entrance at Soin Medical Center. Services include a full range of breast diagnostic services including 3D mammography, and osteoporosis diagnostic services.

The center is named after longtime Jamestown resident Dona Sheley, who served as a music teacher most of her working life. She was best known for her care and compassion for others and intended to show that care beyond her lifetime. Sheley left a significant portion of her estate to Greene Medical Foundation as an endowment. A portion of its proceeds is designated to provide cancer prevention and detection services for the residents of Greene County.

Greene Medical Foundation underwrote the center with proceeds from Dona Sheley’s endowment fund and chose to name the center in honor of Dona and her caring spirit.
