XENIA — Construction for the new Greene County Public Health building is expected to begin within the next week, possibly between now and Wednesday, June 14.

Surrounding neighborhood residents can expect possible increased noise, dust, and construction traffic going to and from the site on a daily basis. Construction is expected to be ongoing for the next year with an anticipated move to the new facility in late spring of 2018.

The building is being constructed by Shook Construction with funding from Greene County Port Authority and Huntington Bank. The 28,000-square-foot building will be located where the old helipad for Greene Memorial Hospital was located.

Greene County Public Health will continue to provide public health services including vital statistics, food service inspections, Women, Infants and Children (WIC), Help Me Grow home visiting, early intervention, Children with Medical Handicaps, protection from and investigation of communicable diseases, health education and more.
