XENIA — The January School to Adult Life Transition (SALT), will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19 at Greene County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the Atrium, 121 Fairground Road.

An Overview of Greene County Developmental Disabilities Services (GCBDD) and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Services (OOD also known as BVR) will be given. Representatives from both agencies will talk about their services, the differences between them and when to request services.

The SALT is a free monthly series developed to give valuable information about transitioning from school to adult life for families of young adults, ages 14-22, with disabilities. It’s a way to meet other parents and to find out what’s next and what’s out there for these young adults.

Parents are encouraged to bring their young adult, ages 14-22, for the Student Series that takes place at the same time.

This month the young adults will be learning about hands-on jobs, tools and safety. They will have an opportunity to make something during this time.

For more information, contact Patti Shrom at 513-892-0596 or [email protected]. RSVP is appreciated to ensure there are enough materials available.
