YELLOW SPRINGS — The Tecumseh Land Trust will host its annual holiday open house, including refreshments, gift shopping and holiday fun.

It will take place 3-5:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at its office on Whitehall Farm, 4633 US Route 68 North. It will be the event of the season with refreshments, gift shopping, and holiday fun. In addition to sweet treats and warm drinks for all, it will offer some special small thank-you gifts for 2016 TLT volunteers.

TLT is offering to “Give an Acre” for individuals interested in purchasing a holiday gift for someone who seems to have everything. The TLT said it is a good avenue to honor of a friend or family member by preserving an acre of prime land in their name. Other items for sale during the open house include handmade napkins, potholders, smudge sticks, candles, artwork, TLT hats, shirts, bumper stickers and original greeting cards featuring pictures of preserved properties.

Tecumseh Land Trust is a member supported, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving farmland, and natural and historic sites in Clark and Greene Counties. The land trust has preserved more than 25,000 acres and 42 stream miles in partnership with private landowners. Its goal is to preserve 100,000 acres and 150 stream miles in Clark and Greene Counties, assuring ample food supply and clean water for future generations, while educating communities about the area’s natural and agricultural heritage.

This annual event brings together the wide variety of supporters of the land trust, including many of the landowners who have taken steps to preserve their unique properties. This is truly an event to bring the community together for the holidays!
