Car fire victim identified

FAIRBORN — Daniel C. Dawson, 27, of Fairborn, has been identified as the victim of a recent car fire in Fairborn.

Firefighters were dispatched to the 1100 block of Kauffman Avenue approximately 4:44 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 27. When they arrived, the found the vehicle, a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, fully engulfed. Fairborn Fire Chief Mike Riley said the fire was extinguished shorty after Engine 1’s arrival to the scene. After the flames were doused, they found the body in the driver’s seat of the car.

The Greene County Coroner was called to the scene. Riley said the state fire marshal’s office is investigating the incident due to the fatality.
