FAIRBORN – Fairborn Police arrested a man Saturday night in connection with an alleged possible methamphetamine lab.

Crews surrounded a home in the 500 block of Florence Ave and took 46-year-old William Estep into custody around 2:20 p.m.

Officials say the Fairborn Police Department helped the Greene County Adult Probation during a home visit and found paraphernalia used to make meth inside a shed. The Greene County ACE Task Force responded to the scene and cleared the scene.

Neighbors told media outlets they were shocked to learn of a meth lab operating next door.

“We had no idea. I mean somebody had said awhile back that maybe it was a you know a drug house but I didn’t know. I didn’t pay any attention,” said a neighbor who wishes to remain anonymous. “I feel very sad for my grand kids growing up in this world. It’s very scary, but you know we just keep to ourselves and just stay right here.”

Estep is facing felonious manufacturing of drugs and illegal assembly of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and possession charges.

He’s in the Greene County Jail where he is being held without bond.
