ENON – The Greenon Local School District Board of Education is seeking input from the community on the future of educational facilities in the district.
Residents are invited to attend a community forum beginning 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Greenon High School. Tours of the building will be available after the forum.
During this session, district leaders will review information about a potential project to address aging facilities in this district, and review potential master facilities plans. Residents will then have a discussion to identify the community’s priorities for school facilities.
For residents who cannot attend, a survey will be available Sept. 7-21 online at http://www.greenon.k12.oh.us/News/survey and in print at all Greenon school buildings, the Board of Education office, the Village of Enon office, the Enon Library, the Enon branch of the United Senior Services Center, and the Hustead Fire Department. Printed versions of the survey will be available for community forum attendees.
“As a district, we value input from our community to help guide us in our decision-making,” said Board President Dennis Henry. “Through this process, we aim to work collaboratively with parents, students, residents, and staff to identify our priorities and expectations to preserve our tradition of providing students a well-rounded, outstanding education to the students of Greenon Local Schools.”
A second forum to follow up on the results of the initial survey and meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Indian Valley, with tours available following the forum. Enon Primary School will be open to residents for tours from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29.
“We recognize that the community has high expectations for its schools and our talented and dedicated teachers and staff works hard to meet those expectations,” said Brad Silvus, Greenon superintendent. “The community is an important part of all we do at Greenon schools, and together we can identify the best path forward to a bright future for our community.”
Results of the forum and survey will be used by the Board of Education to inform decisions related to the future of education in the district.
